David Bailey Furnitures announces Goldfinch's retirement

David Bailey announces retirement of Production Director George Goldfinch

After 23 years working for David Bailey Furniture Systems, Production Director George Goldfinch has announced his retirement.

George joined David Bailey in 1992 as Production Manager and was given the daunting responsibility of hitting a £1million target in his first year, a target he exceeded…just. He was quickly noticed as a valuable member of the David Bailey family and rose to the position of Production Director in 2000.

George started his working life as an Apprentice Pattern Maker, a position secured whilst studying at Borough Road Polytechnic. His apprenticeship served him well and saw him work for many years in the Government furniture industry later deciding to specialise in supplying domestic kitchens. George enjoyed many successful years in the kitchen business, helping to start SAGA Kitchens, where he became Production Director.

George has many fond memories of his time at David Bailey Furniture Systems, speaking of his time at the company, he said: “I have been lucky to work with many lovely people through the years who have become friends as well as colleagues. I regard MD Trevor Gillman as a close friend and I’m positive we will meet up for the odd game of golf”.

Retirement certainly won’t be quiet for George, he looks forward to spending more time with his family, including his five grandchildren, as well as indulging his passions for painting, cycling and travel.

We all at David Bailey wish George a happy and healthy retirement!
