Trevor Gillman MD DBFSManaging Director of DBFS, Trevor Gillman, said, “I am delighted that DBFS has been chosen for this UCLH project by Bouygues UK, it is an endorsement of the long-term relationship between our companies, our healthcare specialisation and support of British manufacturing. It is highly rewarding to be involved in support of the Proton Beam Therapy installation, which will deliver advanced cancer treatment.”

UCLH healthcare furniture contract

DBFS has been involved with Bouygues UK for over two years developing the furniture specification, endorsing the importance Bouygues UK places on delivering the correct furniture for this prestigious project. DBFS will be manufacturing and supplying all healthcare furniture covering storage units, worktops, shelving, bedroom furniture, reception and staff counters. Bouygues UK were awarded the contract by UCLH in 2015 to design and build the new state-of-the-art hospital dedicated to advanced cancer treatment and surgery services in central London. During that time the project has been visited by Matt Hancock in 2018, when he was Secretary of State, shortlisted in the Public Sector Design Stage category of the BREEAM Awards 2019, covered in the recent Raconteur report on advancements in combating cancer and featured in BBC Horizon’s July 2019 episode on a 2 year report covering the project.

About Proton Beam Therapy (PBT)

PBT is an advanced form of radiotherapy which delivers highly targeted doses of radiation to reduce side-effects and damage to surrounding tissue. Based in the lower ground floors of a state-of-the-art building, the UCLH Proton Beam Therapy Centre will be one of only two high energy PBT NHS centres in the UK, with the second installed at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester. The floors above ground in the London facility will house Europe’s largest facility for the treatment of blood disorders.
