Golf Society Day marks David Bailey’s 30th Anniversary

David Bailey celebrated its 30th Anniversary in style last Friday (22nd June) by hosting its first Golf Society Day at Silveremere, a stunning former European Tour qualifying golf course in Cobham, Surrey.

The day got off to a cloudy start, but a bit of wind and drizzle wasn’t going to put the damper on David Bailey’s celebrations. After greeting customers with a bacon buttie, the teams headed off for a quick putt practice before teeing off for their 18-hole game of golf.

Plenty of fun was had on the golf course and there were a fair few balls that ended up in the lake, but a pleasant game was had by all – apart from the last team, who got caught in a downpour whilst the others watched on with relief.

After everybody was fed and watered, it was time for David Bailey to present the prizes, which were awarded for the most points, the longest drive, nearest to the pin, the winning team and the booby prize, which went to the player with the funniest shot.

The triumphant winners were:

  • Most Points – joint winners Colin Shermer from Morgan Sindall and Roger Jordan from Capital & County.
  • Longest Drive (Hole 8) – John Gover from Primus Build.
  • Nearest the Pin (Hole 12) – John Colfer from G D Construction.
  • Nearest the Pin (Hole 17) – Colin Shermer from Morgan Sindall.
  • Winning Team ‘Team Trevor’ – Stephen Game from Kier, Simon Cook from Cuffe Plc and John Gover from Primus Build.
  • Funniest Shot – Simon Cook from Cuffe Plc.

The day ended with a thank you speech from Managing Director, Trevor Gillman and following the event David Bailey received a number of emails of thanks:

“A very good choice of venue, great company and the BBQ was spot on”.
Tom Jones, J.G. Diebelius & Sons Ltd.

“Please pass on my thanks to Trevor and all at David Bailey for a great day on Friday. The golf, the company and the food made an excellent combination”.
Gary Legg, Bousfield.

“I hope you had as much enjoyment as we all did. I would love to attend again if you have a moment of weakness and do it again. Once again thank you for a well organised and lovely day.”
John Gover, Primus Build.

Thanks to everyone that attended! We had a wonderful day and hope you all did too.
