David Bailey conquers Wales securing four healthcare furniture contracts
In just the last three months David Bailey Furniture Systems has won an impressive four healthcare furniture contracts in Wales totalling just shy of £160,000 of fitted healthcare furniture.
Trevor Gillman, Owner and Managing Director of David Bailey Furniture Systems, said: “We’ve supplied and fitted healthcare furniture in some of the UK’s most prestigious hospitals and health centres, but Wales is fairly new territory for us.
“Given the number of hospitals that have been affected by the recent collapse of Carillion, it’s reassuring to see that the NHS has not lost total confidence in the construction sector, with most hospital new build and refurbishment projects continuing as planned.
“We couldn’t be happier with this sudden flurry of healthcare furniture contracts in Wales.”
The four contracts include two hospital refurbishments.
As part of a £6.5m upgrade to maternity and neonatal services at Prince Charles Hospital in Mid Glamorgan, David Bailey will be fitting base and wall storage units, worktops and drugs cupboards in 60 different rooms. A further 84 rooms will be fit out with similar storage units from David Bailey’s healthcare furniture range at Morriston Hospital in Swansea this spring, following the recent £5.8m state-of-the-art refurb of its renal unit.
Two new health centres complete the quartet of healthcare furniture contracts.
Mayhill Integrated Primary Care and Family Centre in Swansea is expected to be the first complex of its kind in Wales when it opens next month with a family centre, a GP surgery, and a pharmacy in the same building. Here David Bailey will be supplying fitted healthcare furniture for six consulting rooms, two treatment rooms, the phlebotomy room and the back-office area.
Brnmwar Medical Centre in Gwent, currently under construction with WRW Construction Limited, is being built on land opposite Blaen-y-Cwm Primary School. When complete the two-storey health centre will house a dental suite, pharmacy and general medical services. David Bailey will be fitting out 56 rooms in total including clinical rooms, consulting rooms and office areas.
Also last spring, David Bailey breathed a new lease of life into 30 rooms at Prestatyn Health Centre in Denbighshire with a warm colour scheme of golden red alder worktops to contrast white base and wall storage units and shelving.
Trevor, added: “2018 has got off to a great start for us, thanks to these healthcare furniture contracts in Wales and several other significant hospital refurb projects we recently secured. This spring we’ll also be launching another range of furniture to complement our hospital and healthcare offering.”
