David Bailey Furniture Systems has been involved in manufacturing bespoke education and healthcare furniture for 32 years, and as such we believe in keeping a healthy manufacturing sector at the heart of a recovering UK economy.

According to the World Bank, the UK is currently the eleventh largest manufacturing nation in the world. Though whilst output is increasing overall, the manufacturing sector’s share of the UK economy has seen a decline of 18% since the middle of the century.

This is not an immediate cause for concern, but it does indicate that over a long enough timescale UK manufacturing’s share of the economy will dwindle, and perhaps eventually all but disappear, with many companies outsourcing production abroad.

Our 37 staff members, including factory workers, office personnel and management, work together as a team and are proud of the rich heritage we share, with over 32 years’ experience in furniture manufacturing and counting.

Keeping manufacturing jobs local and in-house helps us to build strong links with the community and allows for a much greater level of quality control over our fitted furniture product ranges.
