About this project
A redevelopment at St Helier Hospital in Carshalton, Surrey, required new healthcare furniture as part of the Better Healthcare Closer to Home initiative.
Trevor Gillman, Managing Director of David Bailey, said:
“Together with main contractors, Casey Construction, we have created a more sterile environment with up-to-date facilities that will benefit both staff and patients.”
We manufactured the following healthcare furniture:
- Healthline HTM 63 furniture range
- Neutral colour scheme
- Maple doors
- Beige worktops
- Post-formed, rounded worktop edges
Healthcare furniture at St Helier Hospital
Fitted furniture from our Healthline range was installed as part of the refurbishment in the hospital’s reception areas, patients’ resource room, foetal medicine department, medical records centre and ultrasound facility.
A neutral colour scheme combining clear maple doors and beige worktops was chosen. All worktops were supplied with rounded, post-formed vertical edges for a clean, professional finish and added safety.
St. Helier Hospital
The NHS Trust is planning to invest £190 million in a major redevelopment project at St. Helier hospital to replace Ferguson House with a state-of-the-art 20,000-m² seven-storey building. With 348 beds, the new building will house the majority of St. Helier’s wards and clinics. The redevelopment is part of the Better Healthcare Closer to Home initiative and is due to start in 2012.
Healthcare furniture by David Bailey
The fitted healthcare furniture we supply is manufactured at our factory in Broadstairs, Kent. We provide specialist, HTM 63 and HTM 71 compliant furniture and storage units, specialising in the healthcare and hospital market. We have installed fitted healthcare furniture to many UK hospitals, health centres, clinics and GP surgeries, including Guys & St. Thomas Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, North Middlesex University Hospital and Northwick Park Hospital. Architects and Contractors rely on us because they know we are well established and professional and our durable furniture is manufactured in Britain with craftsmanship and professionalism. We also install our furniture into a facility, so there is no need to ensure a contractor has installation instructions.
