About this project

Contractor Keir was appointed by Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the new 3417m² imaging centre at Royal Brompton Hospital, the largest specialist heart and lung healthcare provider in the UK. Kier commissioned us to provide healthcare furniture to the value of £120,000 across this new facility.

The brand-new imaging centre was secured through the ProCure22 (P22) framework and will provide state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities for patients, and enable the delivery of a number of innovative treatments, including interventional bronchoscopy.

The imaging centre will comprise across four-storeys. The two lower levels will be underground and have essential plant and services for the building and MRI scanners. The ground and first floors will have a range of facilities, including: echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiogram, CT scanners and clinical support accommodation.

The furniture we manufactured has been installed across many areas of this new facility, including: dirty utility, prep/anaesthetic area, cardiac CT scanner room, ultrasound, 1st & 2nd stage recover, paediatric waiting, radiology reporting and clinical admin office. Our Healthline range of furniture was chosen for this installation, with worktops in colour G075 Gris Centre, handles in chrome and carcases in white.

  • 88 single wall units
  • 43 bullnose worktops
  • 23 single locker units
  • 36 single base units
  • Drawer units
  • Accessories such as safety backed mirrors, unbreakable mirrors, shelving and brackets.

Healthcare furniture by David Bailey

The fitted healthcare furniture we supply is manufactured at our factory in Broadstairs, Kent. We provide specialist, HTM 63 and HTM 71 compliant furniture and storage units, specialising in the healthcare and hospital market. We have installed fitted healthcare furniture to many UK hospitals, health centres, clinics and GP surgeries, including Guys & St. Thomas Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, North Middlesex University Hospital and Northwick Park Hospital. We also install our furniture into a facility, so there is no need to ensure a contractor has installation instructions.

Supporting the NHS through the Coronavirus pandemic

Our factory was operational throughout the Coronavirus pandemic and we have been able to support the NHS by responding quickly to orders for furniture at several facilities, including Peterborough City Hospital, Hillingdon Hospital, Royal Preston Hospital and also furniture for mobile CT scanner units in Hull.
