David Bailey Furniture Systems’ fitted furniture has been specified for South Pembrokeshire Hospital at Pembroke Dock in Wales.
The £32,000 hospital furniture contract features a variety of units from the Healthline range for the newly built Health and Social Care Resource Centre.
Meanwhile in Worcestershire, consultations over specialist hospital furniture for the new £6.5 million Pershore Cottage Hospital also prescribed David Bailey Furniture Systems.
Project architect Tangram Architects & Designers of South East London specified David Bailey’s market-leading Healthline range.
The furniture designs feature smooth lines and handle cut-outs within drawer units, eliminating sharp corners and protruding knobs or handles, while all wardrobe doors have piano hinged shelving rather than hanging rails. Patient safety and protection has been paramount in the design of the furniture.
The Pershore Cottage Hospital scheme provides around 4,000 sq m of accommodation over three floors. The ground floor medical centre includes 21 consulting rooms and a dispensary. The first floor hospital provides in-patient beds in either four bedded wards or single rooms. All have en-suite facilities. On the second floor there is a National Health Dental surgery and office space for school nurses, health visitors and other community workers.
The project is a joint venture between Wychavon District Council and South Worcestershire Primary Care Trust. The contractor was Ashford Construction of Coleshill, Birmingham.
High quality design and manufacture and a seamless supply and installation service for hospitals, combined with competitive pricing, has helped David Bailey Furniture Systems secure these and other contracts and establish its market-leading position.
