About this project
We have manufactured and installed fitted healthcare furniture at the refurbished West Cumberland Hospital, in a contract worth just over £30,000. We worked with contractor Premier Modular and the architects Gilling Dod.
The furniture was provided for a modular unit housing a procedure room, clean utility room, 4-person hotdesk, 4 clinic/assessment rooms, an infusion room with dedicated staff base, a reception and waiting area, as well as office spaceand WC. The modular unit will sit as an extension of the existing Emergency Assessment Unit and has been placed to improve patient flow within the hospital.
Furniture installed
We supplied the following healthcare furniture to West Cumberland Hospital:
- 19 worktops
- Double base units
- 11 controlled drugs cupboards
- Single base units
- L-shaped reception desk
- Nurse base
- Baby change unit
- Plus accessories such as curtain tracks and grab rails.

We also install our furniture into a facility, so there is no need to ensure a contractor has installation instructions.
Supporting the NHS through the Coronavirus pandemic
Our factory has been operational throughout the Coronavirus pandemic and we have been able to support the NHS by responding quickly to orders for furniture at several facilities, including Peterborough City Hospital, Hillingdon Hospital, Royal Preston Hospital and also furniture for mobile CT scanner units in Hull.
