David Bailey Furniture Systems, leading manufacturer and supplier of fitted furniture to the healthcare market, has been awarded a contract for the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism (OCDEM) at Churchill Hospital.
The £10 million OCDEM project is a new build, which will specialise in diabetes, endocrinology and metabolism. The centre, which comprises three floors, will house outpatient consulting rooms, ward facilities, lab areas and teaching and research space. David Bailey’s Healthline furniture has been specified throughout the building, including all ten single bedrooms on the ward, the outpatient consulting rooms and the staffed kitchen areas. David Bailey was also requested to produce bespoke vanity units with pull out bins and cupboards to house fridges.
Peter Hackwell, site manager for Leadbitter Construction, the main contractor for the project, commented: “We have been very pleased with David Bailey’s performance. They have been both prompt and accurate with their deliveries, and we would be happy to work with them again.”Case study date: February 19, 2014
