We have been selected by architects IBI Group and construction group, Interserve, to manufacture and install healthcare furniture for a project improving the obstetric and neonatal facilities at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen. The furniture contract is for the value of £100,000.

Glangwili General Hospital
The contract win follows the Welsh Government’s £25.2 million investment into the obstetric and neonatal facilities at Hywel Dda University Health Board’s Glangwili Hospital as part of its Design For Life Framework. The project is divided into 4 phases: Phase 1 of the project has already been completed, Phase 2 is underway at present and the entire project should be completed by February 2022.
Healthcare furniture installation
For Phase 1, we have provided furniture for the labour ward, neo-natal ward and theatres:
- 75 storage units
- 16 worktops
- Shelving racking
- Clinical rails
- Trespa Toplab benching
Worktops have been provided in colour G059 – Dark Grey and units in colour G044 – Light grey.
The Glangwili Hospital project
The construction programme will be carried out in multiple phases, with the first stage comprising a new labour ward at the first floor level, refurbishment to existing buildings, together with a new two-storey extension located in the existing courtyard.
The second phase of redevelopment will increase the capacity of the facilities at the hospital and will include the installation of high-dependency and special-care cots, construction of a neo-natal ward, offices, staffrooms, ensuites, parent rooms and family restrooms. It will also increase the number of birthing rooms, operating theatres and resuscitation bays. In addition, new car parking facilities will be provided.
